Reisdetails van Helgoland
Omschrijving:
Morgen vertrekken wij, Timo en ik, om onze 100ste verjaardag samen te vieren We vertrekken voor een midweek naar Helgoland, maar om de boot niet te missen, slapen we zondagnacht al in Cuxhaven (D).
Even een stukje geschiedenis van Helgoland:
Helgoland (Noordfries: Deät Lun (Het Land), is een eiland in de Noordzee, dat deel uitmaakte van Denemarken, Groot-Brittannië en nu Duitsland. Het ligt aanzienlijk verder uit de kust dan de Oost-Friese Waddeneilanden, waar het niet toe gerekend wordt.
Het eiland is bekend vanwege het toerisme. Helgoland vormt een eigen gemeente en maakt geen deel uit van het douanegebied van de Europese Unie (dus belastingvrij waardoor er veel mensen komen voor de tabak en de drank). Op Helgoland wordt Halunder freesk, een Noord-Friese taal gesproken.
Het eiland meet 1,7 km² en telt 1.370 inwoners. Het beschikt over een klein strand, maar is vooral bekend om zijn roodgekleurde rotskust die tot 61 meter hoog uit zee omhoog rijst, en om de (nu door omvallen bedreigde) rotspunt de Lange Anna. Sinds de storm van 1720/21 bestaat het eigenlijk uit twee eilanden: enerzijds het hoofdeiland met de herkenbare klif van Trias bontzandsteen en anderzijds de Düne, een met zand bedekte dagzoom van kalksteen uit het Jura.
Helgoland is grotendeels verkeersvrij er zijn maar een paar auto's (in 2007 heeft de politie toch een auto tot hun beschikking gekregen): en fietsen is er verboden.
Het eiland geniet aanzienlijke faam bij natuur- en vooral vogelliefhebbers omdat het een belangrijke broed- en pleisterplaats is voor zeevogels uit het Noordzeegebied en voor trekvogels van verder noordelijk. Het gehele jaar door is er een kolonie zeehonden aanwezig op het eilandje Düne.
Dus camera's mee, mooi weer besteld en hopelijk een paar schitterende foto's als we weer naar huis gaan :-)...

Reisdetails van Helgoland
Omschrijving:
Morgen vertrekken wij, Timo en ik, om onze 100ste verjaardag samen te vieren We vertrekken voor een midweek naar Helgoland, maar om de boot niet te missen, slapen we zondagnacht al in Cuxhaven (D).
Even een stukje geschiedenis van Helgoland:
Helgoland (Noordfries: Deät Lun (Het Land), is een eiland in de Noordzee, dat deel uitmaakte van Denemarken, Groot-Brittannië en nu Duitsland. Het ligt aanzienlijk verder uit de kust dan de Oost-Friese Waddeneilanden, waar het niet toe gerekend wordt.
Het eiland is bekend vanwege het toerisme. Helgoland vormt een eigen gemeente en maakt geen deel uit van het douanegebied van de Europese Unie (dus belastingvrij waardoor er veel mensen komen voor de tabak en de drank). Op Helgoland wordt Halunder freesk, een Noord-Friese taal gesproken.
Het eiland meet 1,7 km² en telt 1.370 inwoners. Het beschikt over een klein strand, maar is vooral bekend om zijn roodgekleurde rotskust die tot 61 meter hoog uit zee omhoog rijst, en om de (nu door omvallen bedreigde) rotspunt de Lange Anna. Sinds de storm van 1720/21 bestaat het eigenlijk uit twee eilanden: enerzijds het hoofdeiland met de herkenbare klif van Trias bontzandsteen en anderzijds de Düne, een met zand bedekte dagzoom van kalksteen uit het Jura.
Helgoland is grotendeels verkeersvrij er zijn maar een paar auto's (in 2007 heeft de politie toch een auto tot hun beschikking gekregen): en fietsen is er verboden.
Het eiland geniet aanzienlijke faam bij natuur- en vooral vogelliefhebbers omdat het een belangrijke broed- en pleisterplaats is voor zeevogels uit het Noordzeegebied en voor trekvogels van verder noordelijk. Het gehele jaar door is er een kolonie zeehonden aanwezig op het eilandje Düne.
Dus camera's mee, mooi weer besteld en hopelijk een paar schitterende foto's als we weer naar huis gaan :-)...

Reisdetails van Helgoland
Omschrijving:
Morgen vertrekken wij, Timo en ik, om onze 100ste verjaardag samen te vieren We vertrekken voor een midweek naar Helgoland, maar om de boot niet te missen, slapen we zondagnacht al in Cuxhaven (D).
Even een stukje geschiedenis van Helgoland:
Helgoland (Noordfries: Deät Lun (Het Land), is een eiland in de Noordzee, dat deel uitmaakte van Denemarken, Groot-Brittannië en nu Duitsland. Het ligt aanzienlijk verder uit de kust dan de Oost-Friese Waddeneilanden, waar het niet toe gerekend wordt.
Het eiland is bekend vanwege het toerisme. Helgoland vormt een eigen gemeente en maakt geen deel uit van het douanegebied van de Europese Unie (dus belastingvrij waardoor er veel mensen komen voor de tabak en de drank). Op Helgoland wordt Halunder freesk, een Noord-Friese taal gesproken.
Het eiland meet 1,7 km² en telt 1.370 inwoners. Het beschikt over een klein strand, maar is vooral bekend om zijn roodgekleurde rotskust die tot 61 meter hoog uit zee omhoog rijst, en om de (nu door omvallen bedreigde) rotspunt de Lange Anna. Sinds de storm van 1720/21 bestaat het eigenlijk uit twee eilanden: enerzijds het hoofdeiland met de herkenbare klif van Trias bontzandsteen en anderzijds de Düne, een met zand bedekte dagzoom van kalksteen uit het Jura.
Helgoland is grotendeels verkeersvrij er zijn maar een paar auto's (in 2007 heeft de politie toch een auto tot hun beschikking gekregen): en fietsen is er verboden.
Het eiland geniet aanzienlijke faam bij natuur- en vooral vogelliefhebbers omdat het een belangrijke broed- en pleisterplaats is voor zeevogels uit het Noordzeegebied en voor trekvogels van verder noordelijk. Het gehele jaar door is er een kolonie zeehonden aanwezig op het eilandje Düne.
Dus camera's mee, mooi weer besteld en hopelijk een paar schitterende foto's als we weer naar huis gaan :-)...

Reisdetails van Helgoland
Omschrijving:
Morgen vertrekken wij, Timo en ik, om onze 100ste verjaardag samen te vieren We vertrekken voor een midweek naar Helgoland, maar om de boot niet te missen, slapen we zondagnacht al in Cuxhaven (D).
Even een stukje geschiedenis van Helgoland:
Helgoland (Noordfries: Deät Lun (Het Land), is een eiland in de Noordzee, dat deel uitmaakte van Denemarken, Groot-Brittannië en nu Duitsland. Het ligt aanzienlijk verder uit de kust dan de Oost-Friese Waddeneilanden, waar het niet toe gerekend wordt.
Het eiland is bekend vanwege het toerisme. Helgoland vormt een eigen gemeente en maakt geen deel uit van het douanegebied van de Europese Unie (dus belastingvrij waardoor er veel mensen komen voor de tabak en de drank). Op Helgoland wordt Halunder freesk, een Noord-Friese taal gesproken.
Het eiland meet 1,7 km² en telt 1.370 inwoners. Het beschikt over een klein strand, maar is vooral bekend om zijn roodgekleurde rotskust die tot 61 meter hoog uit zee omhoog rijst, en om de (nu door omvallen bedreigde) rotspunt de Lange Anna. Sinds de storm van 1720/21 bestaat het eigenlijk uit twee eilanden: enerzijds het hoofdeiland met de herkenbare klif van Trias bontzandsteen en anderzijds de Düne, een met zand bedekte dagzoom van kalksteen uit het Jura.
Helgoland is grotendeels verkeersvrij er zijn maar een paar auto's (in 2007 heeft de politie toch een auto tot hun beschikking gekregen): en fietsen is er verboden.
Het eiland geniet aanzienlijke faam bij natuur- en vooral vogelliefhebbers omdat het een belangrijke broed- en pleisterplaats is voor zeevogels uit het Noordzeegebied en voor trekvogels van verder noordelijk. Het gehele jaar door is er een kolonie zeehonden aanwezig op het eilandje Düne.
Dus camera's mee, mooi weer besteld en hopelijk een paar schitterende foto's als we weer naar huis gaan :-)...

[description] => Morgen vertrekken wij, Timo en ik, om onze 100ste verjaardag samen te vieren We vertrekken voor een midweek naar Helgoland, maar om de boot niet te missen, slapen we zondagnacht al in Cuxhaven (D).
Even een stukje geschiedenis van Helgoland:
Helgoland (Noordfries: Deät Lun (Het Land), is een eiland in de Noordzee, dat deel uitmaakte van Denemarken, Groot-Brittannië en nu Duitsland. Het ligt aanzienlijk verder uit de kust dan de Oost-Friese Waddeneilanden, waar het niet toe gerekend wordt.
Het eiland is bekend vanwege het toerisme. Helgoland vormt een eigen gemeente en maakt geen deel uit van het douanegebied van de Europese Unie (dus belastingvrij waardoor er veel mensen komen voor de tabak en de drank). Op Helgoland wordt Halunder freesk, een Noord-Friese taal gesproken.
Het eiland meet 1,7 km² en telt 1.370 inwoners. Het beschikt over een klein strand, maar is vooral bekend om zijn roodgekleurde rotskust die tot 61 meter hoog uit zee omhoog rijst, en om de (nu door omvallen bedreigde) rotspunt de Lange Anna. Sinds de storm van 1720/21 bestaat het eigenlijk uit twee eilanden: enerzijds het hoofdeiland met de herkenbare klif van Trias bontzandsteen en anderzijds de Düne, een met zand bedekte dagzoom van kalksteen uit het Jura.
Helgoland is grotendeels verkeersvrij er zijn maar een paar auto's (in 2007 heeft de politie toch een auto tot hun beschikking gekregen): en fietsen is er verboden.
Het eiland geniet aanzienlijke faam bij natuur- en vooral vogelliefhebbers omdat het een belangrijke broed- en pleisterplaats is voor zeevogels uit het Noordzeegebied en voor trekvogels van verder noordelijk. Het gehele jaar door is er een kolonie zeehonden aanwezig op het eilandje Düne.
Dus camera's mee, mooi weer besteld en hopelijk een paar schitterende foto's als we weer naar huis gaan :-)...
